Les Coggins is a Professional Engineer and Certified Electrical Contractor with over fifty years of experience in the fields of electrical engineering and facility operations. His numerous projects include primarily industrial, commercial, institutional, healthcare, and military complexes. Les is the Founder and CEO of StaffordUSA, Inc., a design-build engineering firm that operates wholly-owned subsidiaries Florida Electric Works and Stafford Technology Group. He is also Senior Engineer and Orlando Office Manager for HALL AEC, a major architectural, engineering, and consulting firm.
With his extensive and intimate knowledge of facility plant operations Les is called upon by the most demanding of customers to be a major participant in modernization, upgrade, rehabilitation and expansion projects. A priority requirement of industrial, institutional and military facilities is to maintain reliable ongoing services during major projects. This requires someone who is familiar with the technical aspects of the facilities including electrical distribution and advanced electronic systems as well as possessing an understanding of the customer’s business operations. Major entities such as Frontier Communications, Thomas & Betts, and Total Renal / Davita Laboratories have come to rely on the consistent and professional technical leadership of Les Coggins. For ten years Les also led a multi-discipline team of architects and engineers providing technical support to the Air Force Medical Services Agency overseeing major projects at US Air Force health facilities throughout the United States, Europe, and the Pacific Rim.
While building clientele and professional expertise in the civilian environment Les served as an engineering officer in the United States Air Force in both Active Duty and Reserve components. The challenges of a “dual career” were demanding and rewarding. Les served as a Reserve Squadron Commander deploying small contingency engineering teams to places of interest around the world and served as an “interim” Base Civil Engineer and Engineer Group Commander at a major active duty base. He retired with the rank of Colonel after a combined 30 years of service.
Les has served on numerous boards, committees, and panels for local governments as well as civic and spiritual entities. He is currently serving on his local Economic Development Committee.
